Petanque Club
Our Mission
“Provide an environment for playing casual and competition pétanque in a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play.”
We provide opportunities of social play, Club competitions, NSW Petanque League competitions, National competitions and for those who are selected to be a 'Bouleroo' opportunities to represent Australia nationally and internationally.
Playing petanque
Our playing venues are in amazing locations, similar to those found in French villages. Our home ground at Latham Park Boulodome and the ground at Centennial Park are tree lined open spaces with plenty of shade, Ballast Point and Pyrmont are both perfect set-ups for petanque with wonderful terrain and views.
We play Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 1:30 pm and most Sundays at Latham Park, Rankwick Boulodrome, South Coogee with some games at other venues, including Ballast Point, Birchgrove (often on Saturdays), Pyrmont Park (adjoining Pirrama Park) and occasionally at Centennial Park. (See ‘Venues’ page for directions.)
If you are interested in coming or learning to play, please complete the form on our Contact page.
New players are welcome, and if you are already a member we look forward to seeing you on the piste soon.
For those interested to learn, this video and thanks to the English Petanque Association, gives a basic idea of the Petanque sport. However you'll be taught more, of what it takes in terms of game strategy and tactics, upon joining us.
